Dr. Ben Jacobs

About Dr. Ben

Benjamin Jacobs M.D. is a board certified anesthesiologist. Dr. Jacobs graduated from Haverford College in 1981 and then obtained his medical degree from Wake Forest School of Medicine in 1985. 

After completing his residency in anesthesiology at Yale University School of Medicine, Dr. Jacobs remained on staff as an assistant professor at Yale. During his years at Yale, he received research funding as the principal investigator in multiple clinical trials while also specializing in both High-Risk Anesthesia and Ambulatory Anesthesia. 

In 1991, Dr. Jacobs moved to suburban Philadelphia and was subsequently appointed as the Chief of Anesthesiology at the Paoli Memorial Hospital. In 1997, he was named Chairman of Anesthesiology for the entire Main Line Health System. In addition, Dr. Jacobs was named the Director of Anesthesiology services at the Paoli Surgery Center at its inception in 1994. He currently serves on multiple committees including Medical Executive, Steering and Pharmacy and Therapeutics Committees. He is a member of of the American Society of Anesthesiology, the International Anesthesia Research Society, the Society for Ambulatory Anesthesia, and the Pennsylvania Society of Anesthesia. 

Dr. Jacobs, originally from Poughkeepsie, New York, now lives with his family in Malvern, Pennsylvania.
